The Hypocrisy on Trans People and Child Protection

A person close to me who’s from the modern Right [“group”] presents themself as the guardian of morality, family values, and—above all—child protection. They claim to be deeply concerned about the supposed dangers of LGBTQ+ rights, gender-affirming care, and drag performances. They insist that their crusade against trans people is about protecting children, yet the actions reveal something very different.

One glaring hypocrisy is how the group reacts to trans people based on political alignment. If a trans person is perceived as left-leaning, they become a target for relentless attacks, dehumanization, and legislative suppression. But when a trans person aligns with the group, those same conservatives suddenly have nothing to say.

Take, for example, the 0ath Keeper who was sentenced to prison—a member of a militia group who happened to be transgender. Despite their supposed disdain for trans identities, these group figures didn’t make this person the face of their anti-trans outrage. Why? Because their real issue isn’t trans people—it’s political opposition. If a trans person is useful to their movement, their identity becomes irrelevant. But if a trans person is associated with the Left, they’re vilified.

This selective outrage exposes the truth: the group’s attacks on trans people are not about morality or protecting children. It’s about enforcing ideological conformity and punishing anything that challenges their worldview. They weaponize identity politics when it suits them while pretending to oppose it. They ignore their own hypocrisy because their goal has never been fairness—it’s control.

Nowhere is this hypocrisy more glaring than in their so-called mission to “protect children.” They claim that trans rights, LGBTQ+ books, and drag performances are grave threats to kids. Yet, the number one cause of child deaths in America is firearms—not drag queens, not gender-affirming care, not inclusive education. Guns kill more children than any other cause, but where is the Right’s outrage? Where are the laws to protect kids from this actual threat?

Instead of addressing real dangers, they deflect. They flood media with panic over LGBTQ+ people while blocking any effort to enact commonsense gun safety measures. They argue that banning books is necessary to protect kids, but protecting kids from being shot in schools is somehow an infringement on freedom. Their priorities expose the truth: their concern isn’t about safety—it’s about controlling the narrative.

If they truly cared about protecting children, they would act on the leading causes of child deaths. They would push for gun reform. They would address poverty, healthcare, and mental health access. But they don’t, because their moral outrage is not rooted in genuine care—it’s a political weapon.

The next time the the political group claims to be protecting children, look at what they actually do, not what they say. The silence on gun deaths and selective outrage on trans issues reveal everything. This is not a movement about morality. It’s a movement about power, and it will attack, ignore, or embrace anything depending on whether it serves its agenda.
