Jeff Bezos Won’t Feel the Tariffs — But We Will

Let’s be real: Jeff Bezos isn’t going to lose sleep over tariffs. That guy could build a palace out of gold-plated Kindles and still have money left over. But Amazon? That’s a different story. A ton of their marketplace stuff comes from China—cheap gadgets, supplements, beauty, household basics, clothes—and when tariffs hit, prices rise. The little sellers get squeezed. Shoppers like us feel it at checkout. But Bezos? He’s insulated. He stepped down as CEO, his money’s diversified, and he’s off playing space cowboy while the rest of us pay extra for light bulbs and dog toys. So no, he won’t suffer. We will. And that’s the part that never gets said out loud.

And that’s the thing about billionaire— they always find a way to float about the fallout. Whether it’s tariffs, inflation, or supply chain chaos, they have a parachute made of offshore accounts and corporate loopholes. And at the same time, the rest of us are tightening budgets, paying more for everything and anything that sources even one ingredient or part from China and all the while wondering why the system always seems to protect the people who need protecting the least.
